COPURA is also initiating its own seminar programmes.

COPURA not only organizes events on behalf of others, but with “COPURA Initiatives”, we also organize and manage conferences on European policies that involve business and politics.

Additionally, we run seminars on funding opportunities from the EU, such as the 7th Research Framework Programme. Receiving financial support from the EU for a project is not only a matter of an excellent content of the project or of an excellent proposal. COPURA’s seminar team shows you all you have to think of from the beginning to get an EU-funded project in the end.

> Information Seminars

We organise information seminars on European themes such as access to EU funding for small and medium enterprises, or possible effects of EU legislation on your business sector.

The 7th Research Framework Programme is currently running until 2013 with a budget of more than 50 billion € and support quotas of up to 75 %. Over the past few years, the EU has reworked this policy, simplified its procedures, and directed it strongly to SMEs. Security is everyday becoming more relevant, a part of an ever-growing market.

We organise interactive workshops in small groups on FP7 and Security. Our speakers have first-hand knowledge and experience of programme details, tender procedures, and legal issues. They will work together with workshop participants to provide personalised answers on these matters.

> European Security Conference

COPURA in partnership with CEIS has organized in November 2007 the “European Security Conference” about the further institutional development of the European Security and Defence Policy. Approximately 300 participants from both the EU and the Member States discussed the future role of defence and security within the EU. Key speakers included Vice-President Verheugen and number of ministers of defence and interior and secretaries of state.

> European Security Round Table

The European Security Round Table (ESRT) is a neutral platform between the EU Institutions, NATO, Member States and all the relevant actors to discuss European security and defence issues. It is supported by a high-level Advisory Board and it is unique with its EU focus and its systematic approach. It is supposed to develop proposals for current politics and to give impulses for future political initiatives

The ESRT is a membership-based organisation. Regular Round Tables and the Annual Conferences are the key meeting formats of the ESRT. Furthermore, the ESRT organises meetings with international experts with the aim of providing the ESRT members with specific and background information and in-depth knowledge on specific issues.
