> TechnologieRegion Karlsruhe (TRK)
COPURA provided support the TechnologieRegion Karlsruhe GbR (TRK) in the conceptual and practical preparation of its presentation in Brussels in September 2007. The European Model Region had already received the „Award of Excellence for Innovative Regions“ several times from the European Commission for technology transfer.
COPURA developed the event concept and helped to implement it, preparing the contents of the event, identifying participants and contributing to the PR work. The TRK Region was succefully presented to voer 400 selected participants in the Baden-Württemberg Permanent Representation.
Europe of the Regions is characterised by a strong competitive environment. It is therefore important for the individual regions to develop their specific regional strengths and to present them at European level in order to strengthen their comparative regional advantages vis-à-vis other European regions.
COPURA has compared the TRK with other successful European regions and has stressed its specific strengths necessary for a leading role in Europe.

> European Energy Conference
COPURA supports the Energy Security Group headed Amelia Hadfield of the University of Kent on security- and defence-related topics. When Russia recently restricted energy supplies to the Ukraine, this had a massive impact on European members states. These severe consequences were the object of discussion between academics, politicians, industry representatives and legal experts from the EU, Russia, North America and Algeria.
The “Energy Roundtable – Europe and Beyond: Developments & Dilemmas” took place on September 20 and 21, 2007 at the Palais d’Egmont in Brussels. This seminar was supported among others by internationally renowned Chatham House and the College of Europe.
